FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the process take?

Once you have been contacted with a quote, you can arrange a collection time that suits your schedule so our turnaround times are generally as long or as short as you make them, we try where possible to do same day collections.

Is this all legal?

All of our drivers are licensed waste carriers so will legally remove your car. You car will then be taken to an authorised treatment facility (ATF) where your car will be scrapped according to government legislation, from time to time your car may be exported.

How much can I expect?

Our scrap car collectors will contact you with the best available price for your scrap vehicle based on the make, model, age and condition.

What do I need to pay for?

Nothing at all. There are no collection fees, admin fees, hidden fees or cancellation fees.

What will I need?

Your car, the V5 Log Book and the Keys.

What about the certificate of destruction?

The ATF will send this directly to you and you will need to inform the DVLA of this when it arrives.

Do I need to give you my car keys, I can’t find them?

The keys are not always crucial. Please talk to the valuator when they call you to arrange a collection.

I have not heard from my buyer, what am I going to do?

It may take up to 1 hour after the quote has been passed to the assessor to receive a call back. If this timeframe has expired and you haven’t heard anything about it yet, we suggest that you contact us directly.

Do You Take Other Types of Scrap?

Unfortunately, no we only specialise in analysing the price for scrap and recyclable vehicles.

I Can’t Find My Car on Your Website?

What if my car is missing parts?

All quotes are offered on the basis that the car will be supplied complete and intact.

If pieces have been withdrawn or dismantled, this could mean that their offered price may need to be changed by the valuator.

There will be no  requirement for you to accept any changed price. In some circumstances, you may advise that they cannot collect the car due to the missing parts.

Will my car be scrapped after collection?

In compliance with the EU End of Life Vehicles Directive, most cars obtained through our service are scrapped and disposed of. However, if the vehicle can be restored and legitimately made road worthy, it may be reused. When the car has been returned to its site and tested, the valuator will determine whether to scrap or re-use the vehicle.
